IRSET hosts the laboratoire d’études et de recherche en environnement et santé (LERES) affiliated with the School of Public Health (EHESP). LERES is certified by COFRAC and the Ministries for Health and Environment and adheres to the ISO 17025 standard.
LERES is one of the biggest French analytical laboratories specialized in the analysis of water and environmental media such as indoor air, soil, sediments and it is mainly involved in sanitary survey programs and metrological research. In addition to its analytical capacity (more than 900 parameters can be determined and more than 300 000 results are produced every year) and metrological development, the LERES provides facilities required for experimental projects (treatment, test, validation), including field monitoring of water or indoor air quality.
The LERES expertise includes chemistry, physical chemistry, detection of regulated substances (hazardous priority substances), emerging contaminants (pharmaceuticals, desinfection by-products), microbiology (regulated and emerging microorganisms), field measurements (quality of the media, treatment efficiency), and sampling (water, air, dust). The platform is equipped with advanced analytical instruments for sample fractionation and mass spectrometry (UPLC/MS/MS, GC/MS/MS, ICP/MS).
